BullGuard was founded in 2001 and has a long and successful history in the antivirus and antiphishing software industry. During its 15-year history, BullGuard has achieved a good market share. BullGuard has an impressive product line that goes beyond simple virus protection with PC / Mobile Backup Software and “Internet Security”, its comprehensive solution for Internet security. In terms of awards and recognition, BullGuard has done quite well and accumulated the top 10 institutions over a 5-year period from 2007 to 2012. Even during this period, BullGuard software hiccups outdated Windows computers, classifies all executable programs as “infected”, tags them as Trojan alerts and puts them into quarantine. As you can imagine, this has not made a good impression on either the company or the product! But what will happen in 2016? Are they still competing for the best PC protection?
Reliability and Security
BullGuard offers high-quality anti-virus solutions so you can expect them to be reliable and easy to use. In the TopTenReviews test, they found that BullGuard caught 100% of the malware on your PC and performed well with ‘Easy Scan’ – 92%. In our tests, we found that the user interface was as simple and working as expected. They also received excellent TrustPilot ratings, which further strengthened their argument for strong customer service and ease of use. I would recommend BullGuard to anyone looking for a very simple and powerful antivirus with excellent support that is very easy to install and use.
Detects and removes malicious programs on your computer, such as viruses, adware and spyware.
Spyware secretly keeps track of what you do on your computer. Its purpose is usually to collect passwords, bank details and credit card information.
Identify sites that are safe and secure. Block websites and malware downloads.
Block Phishing Websites
Block fraudulent websites that are designed to steal your personal information, usually after you click on a fake email.
Advertising programs are malicious programs that automatically display or download adware, such as banners or pop-ups.
Define your own scanning schedule for system viruses, including the locations to be scanned.
As mentioned in the “Value for money” section, the feature set is relatively small unless you are looking for a clean anti-malware solution. In this case, it does exactly what you need and does it well, but there are many other products that protect your computer also well for the same price and with many more features. One of them is ‘Powerful Parental Control’, which is easy to set up and manage and allows you to keep track of what your children can access online. If an attempt is made to break a rule that you have set, you will be notified and can even set rules to prevent your child from entering your address or other personal information online. This is a great addition to the software.
Remotely manage the Windows Firewall or advanced integrated firewall tools.
Live Chat Support
Customer service includes live chat for quick response to any problem.
Value For Money
Starting at $59.95 per year for Internet Security (3 PC Protection), BullGuard handles a relatively low monthly fee of about $5 per month, but what do you get for your hard-earned money? It doesn’t look like… As expected, you get protection against all kinds of malware, automatic scanning and some extra features. The best protection is definitely free 5GB online backup, which takes file protection to a new level. But with Dropbox you can get 1GB for free, so no problem. One of the main features of your product is free updates for new software versions, which partly explains the low cost you get for your money in terms of functionality.
Support and Customer Service
As for customer support and service, BullGuard cannot be criticized. You can communicate online with an antivirus expert at any time (English only) and in 6 different languages. What really impressed us is the speed of support, we were served within a week in just 1 minute lunchtime (usually a very busy time for PC protection software support teams). In addition to the chat functionality, you can also send an email if you don’t have time to resolve the problem on site, or if you have a more complex request. If you prefer to find answers yourself, or want to learn more about antivirus products, you will find comprehensive FAQs and product guides that guide you through all aspects of setting up and managing BullGuard’s antivirus products. Unfortunately, there is no telephone support.
